RP YACHT RULES THAI RACE
Subic Freeport, Dec. 22, 1997 - A jubilant crowd celebrated the victory of Philippine yacht Subic Centennial which captured the overall racing class in the 11th Phuket King's Cup Regatta.
Subic Centennial posted three first place finishes and one second place in the four counted races out of five held recently in Phuket. It is the first Philippine entry to have ever won the Phuket regatta, which this year saw 66 entries.
The King's Cup Regatta is held annually as part of the birthday celebration of His Majesty King Bhumiphol Aduldej of Thailand.
Subic Centennial was entered by a syndicate led by Vic Villavicencio, who is Commodore of the Subic Bay Yacht Club and President of the Triple V Group. It is Asia's first Australian-built Bashford 46.
