PATRIMONIO READY FOR ASIAD
Manila, Dec. 19, 1997 - Four-time Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player awardee Alvin Patrimonio yesterday said he is willing and ready to play for the Philippine team in next year's Asian Games in Bangkok.
The handsome Purefoods star expressed confidence that the RP team will have a good chance next year "because the team will be better prepared."
Patrimonio previously played in the 1986, 1990, 1994 Asian Games and rates China as still the team to beat.
With four years left in his Purefoods contract, the player known in the league as "The Captain" has no intentions of signing up with any body else. "I'm going to stay with Purefoods until I retire," he said.
Patrimonio is the highest paid player in the PBA today.
