FIL-AMS TO RULE PBA DRAFT
Manila, Dec. 18, 1997 - Fil-American players are expected to take the spotlight in the Dec. 22 Philippine Basketball Association draft. Seven US-born amateurs filed their applications as early as last month, hoping to be the top picks this year.
This early, Formula Shell expressed interest in Toti Castillo, 6'2, fresh graduate of Citadel College. Another popular choice is Ali Peek, a 6'5 St. Mary College graduate.
As of last night, other Fil-Americans out of 27 applicants are: Stephen Antonio (Arizona State, Hancock College and Cal State), William Antonio (Chaminade College), Terrence Bito (Pierce College), Anthony Fajardo (Sandwood) and Steven Smith (US International University).
