ALASKA KEEPS PBA TITLE
Pasay City, Dec. 16, 1997 - Alaska captured its fourth PBA Governor's Cup championship with an easy victory over Purefoods in Game 5 last night at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Purefoods played without its import Mike Jones, and was struggling from a 3-1 finals deficit.
Alaska lost Game 1 of the best-of-seven championship series, but recovered by staging a 4-win streak.
Top scorer was Alaska's import Chambers, who has been a Milkman since 1989. He scored 25 points, 18 of them in the first half where Alaska posted a 41-10 lead.
