JUINIO IN ASIAN TENNIS Q'FINALS
Taipei, Dec. 13, 1997 - Filipino-American Bryan Juinio reached the men's singles quarterfinals in the Asian Tennis Championships, overcoming Im Sung-Ho of Korea, -6, 7-5, 6-2.
The victory left Juinio as the only Filipino survivor in the men's singles, following the defeat of teammate Adelo Abadia to Bonit Wiryawan of Indonesia.
Juinio, who is based in Fresno, California, will be up against second seed Adrian Raturandang of Indonesia.
RP head coach Tom Falcis is confident of victory. "Bryan played a good game against Im; hopefully he can do the same against Raturandang."
Raturandang, Indonesia's No. 1 player, beat Juinio in the quarterfinals of the SEA Games last October.
