DID AMANDA'S MOM DATE JINGGOY'S DAD?

Manila, Dec. 29, 1997 - The pairing of second-generation movie stars in a new movie gave Manila's movie writers something to speculate about. Here's what the Malaya newspaper wrote.

Amanda Page, daughter of actress Marilou Matti, co-stars in "Strebel: Gestapo ng Maynila" opposite Jinggoy Estrada, son of actor Joseph Estrada who also happens to be the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Amanda and Jinggoy, who is now Mayor of San Juan, have known each other a long time.

"In fact, even before I entered show business, we already personally knew each other," Amanda said. "Our parents are friends. My Mom did a movie "Okay Ka Erap" with Jinggoy's Dad in the 1970s. That was long before I was born."

Jinggoy belies Amanda's claim:"They were linked romantically in real life."

But Amanda says their generation is not going to continue that tradition. "Jinggoy is like a big brother to me, and working with him for the first time is more than great."
