Manila, Dec. 23, 1997 - Young actor Mark Anthony Fernandez is being tutored by a cousin and will be going back to school in June.

Appearing to be a really changed person, , the love child of Rudy Fernandez and Alma Moreno told the Manila Times' Mario Bautista that he feels more mature now.

"I am now more serious about everything. I realize now that I cannot just give up my education, which was what my Dad was telling me even then. I now know my priorities: career and education," Mark said.

And what about his love life? Mark confirmed that he and Claudine Barretto broke off a long time ago, and that the rumors about their reconciliation came about only because his tutor lives in the same condominium building as the Barrettos'.

Mark's stepdad, Joey Marquez, is mayor of Paranaque. His real dad, Rudy Fernandez, is running for mayor of Quezon City.
