ROBIN HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Manila, Dec. 12, 1997 - Robin Padilla's chances are bright for a very Merry Christmas reunion at home, after the Solicitor General acted favorably on the actor's motion for the modification of his sentence.
Padilla was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment for illegal possession of firearms. Through a new law amending an old Marcos decree, the sentence for the crime was shortened.
Solicitor General Silvestre Bello said he is not objecting to Padilla's motion, thereby paving the way for a possible inclusion of Robin's name in the list of prisoners for the President's traditional Christmas pardon.
Bello said he is confident Robin will be one of those who will be home with their families for Christmas.
