VIVA LAUNCHES TALENT SEARCH IN THE U.S.
Manila, Dec. 10, 1997 - Vic del Rosario of Viva Productions has entered into a joint venture with producer Christian de Walden to form Viva West, a production outfit and recording studio based in Los Angeles, California.
Viva West aims to combine the technological know-how of the West with the music artistry of the Filipinos in the East. It is also asked with the recording of Filipino talents in the United states for distribution in Europe, Asia and America.
De Walden has launched a massive talent search among Filipinos residing in the United States, and is heartened by the initial results.
"You will not believe the talents I have found," said the veteran international producer."They are boys and girls, age 15 or 16, and they are fantastic singers. I can't wait to introduce them in the Philippines. Labels in other countries are already interested in them."
De Walden was responsible for bringing Freddie Aguilar's "Anak" to Europe, where it became the first Filipino song to make it to the hit charts of several countries.
