MONSOUR TEAMS UP WITH EDDIE GARCIA
Manila, Dec. 8, 1997 - It is the first time for Monsour del Rosario to team up with veteran actor Eddie Garcia in a movie, and he's happy that their work "Padre Kalibre"was chosen as an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival.
"Working with Tito Eddie is a great learning experience," he says. "He has great stamina for someone who admits to be more than 70 years old. No wonder he remains on top after almost 50 years in show business."
Eddie plays a small town priest who incurs the ire of a corrupt congressman, Eddie Gutierrez, who hires Monsour to liquidate him.
"The story is very timely," says Monsour, "particularly at this time when priests are being kidnapped by criminal elements."
But in "Padre Kalibre" Monsour joins forces with the priest to combat the corruption that is ruining the town. Industry sources say Eddie Garcia could win another acting award for the movie.
