METRO FILMFEST PICKS SIX FILMS
Manila, Dec. 7, 1997 - This year's official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) include three children's films full of special effects, one feminist drama, one domestic drama and one action picture.
1. "Anak ng Bulkan" - Premiere Productions, starring Tom Taus, Amy Austria, Lloyd Samartino, Beth Tamayo, Bembol Roco and Denise Joaquin. Directed by Cirio H. Santiago.
2. "Magic Adventure (Ang Alamat Ng Damortis)" - Neo Films, starring Jun Urbano, Jason Salcedo, Janus del Prado, Junell Hernando and Jomary Uy. Directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes.
3. "Adarna" - FLT Films, using the voices of Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Piel Moreno and Renzo Cruz and the singing voices of Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez. Directed by Gerry Garcia.
4. "Babae" - Gem Communications and Premiere Productions, starring Nora Aunor, Judy Ann Santos, Mark Gil and Jao Mapa. Directed by Lupita Kashiwahara.
5. "Nasaan Ang Puso" - MaQ Productions, starring Maricel Soriano, Christopher de Leon, Judy Ann Santos and Spencer Reyes. Directed by Chito Rono.
6. "Padre Kalibre" - Starring Eddie Garcia, Monsour del Rosario and Aya Medel. Directed by Val Iglesia.
