MARICEL LAXA IN RARE MOVIE ROLE

Manila, Dec. 2, 1997 - A lot of fans are wondering what ever happened to the career of Maricel Laxa, who seems to have vanished from show business when German Moreno's "GMA Supershow" was taken off the air.

No, she has not totally deserted the world of entertainment. She's just waiting in the wings for good roles.

"There have been no worthwhile roles offered to me, so I'd rather not do any movies in the meantime. After all, I still appear in some telesine and do guest spots for some TV shows, so I'll stick to TV in the meantime," Maricel explained.

Maricel finally found a role worth coming out of hibernation for, in the movie "Enteng En Mokong" starring Vic Sotto and Janno Gibbs, with sexy co-star Sunshine Cruz.

"It is not true that I have left showbiz to be a fulltime mother and wife and nothing else. Show business is my life. Although my family is my priority, show business is in my heart."

Maricel is married to top TV host and anchor Anthony Pangilinan, brother of Francis Pangilinan who is the husband of Sharon Cuneta.
