SEC EXTENDS AMNESTY PLAN

Manila, Dec. 28, 1997 - The Securities and Exchange Commission will extend the amnesty program for corporations that have failed to update their financial and corporate records with the SEC to Janury 13, 1998.

This is in response to a request from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which cited the numerous year-end holidays coinciding with preparations of the paperwork requirements.

The SEC has also received similar requests from Cebu and Iloilo business groups.

The SEC declared an amnestyy program to update its records of corporations for better monitoring.
