RIZAL PARK ROCKIN' AND ROLLIN' TONIGHT
Manila, Nov. 25, 1997 - There's gonna be a whole lotta shakin' going on at the Rizal Park tonight, with four of the country's top rock bands dishing out the hits of the 60s and 70s.
The happening is scheduled from 6-8 tonight, at the Rizal Park open-air auditorium, where Concert at the Park is held every Sunday. But the mood just might get the bands rocking away beyond the schedule, what with huge crowds of students and young professionals expected to watch the free concert.
The rock bands participating in this Department of Tourism project are: ARPI and the Multivitamins, Nexxus, Rupix Cube and Aura. Their performances are part of the 9-day grand international musicfest "Musika Manila '97" launched in cooperation with the Philippine Association of the Record Industry and the Samba-Lichen Foundation.
Indonesian and Filipino folk artists will be performing as pre-programming for the rock concert.
The music festival, which began on November 22 in various parts of the country, will culminate in a grand show at the Rizal Park on Sunday, November 30 from 4-8 p.m. followed by a Barrio Fiesta at the Department of Tourism Quadrangle.
