CLARK FIELD PREPARES FOR DIRECT TAIWAN FLIGHTS
Clark Field, Nov. 4, 1997 - There will soon be regular flights between Taiwan and Clark Field. This was announced by Great China Airlines president George Chan, who flew over to confer with Clark International Airport president Romeo David.
Great China Airlines will use Boeing 737 and other bigger aircraft to accommodate Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from Kaoshiung, Taipei and other parts of Taiwan who are set to return to the Philippines for the holidays.
OFWs whose homes are in Central and Northern Luzon will benefit from the new flights which will save them thousands of pesos and countless hours they would have wasted by fling into Manila.
Prior to the announcement, only Taiwanese tourists had been expected to avail of the direct flights.
