RP YACHT VIDA OFF TO DEFEND ASIA TITLE
Manila, Nov. 30, 1997 - The Philippine-based 51-foot Beneteau yacht "Vida" sailed off this week to Malaysia to defend its Sir Thomas Lipton Challenge Perpetual Cup Trophy in the Southeast Asian International Series that starts with the Raja Muda Regatta.
The Vida, owned by Filipino Businessman Ray Ordoveza, is the defending champion in the Malaysian leg scheduled on this week, as well as in the Singapore Straits Regatta set for January 14-18 next year.
Last year, the Vida was also second runner-up in the 10th Thai King's Cup, the 11th edition of which reels off on December 8 in Phuket.
The Team Vida-San Miguel is a partnership between San Miguel Beer and Ordoveza.
