ALASKA CRUSHES STA LUCIA 83-69
Pasay City, Nov. 24, 1997 - Defending champion Alaska Milk mercilessly mowed down Sta. Lucia last night in Game One of their Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governor's Cup best-of-five semifinal playoff at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Alaska coach Tim Cone praised all the members of his team. "I think what really separates my team from the others is that my players have a sense of togetherness."
The champs, seeking to keep the crown for the third straight year, made full use of import Sean Chambers in stopping the opponent's own import Sean Green, who was limited to just 20 points for the game.
Chambers is a favorite to win the Best Import title.
