MOBILINE DEFEATS POP COLA FOR QUARTERFINAL SLOT

Pasay City, Nov. 17, 1997 - Mobiline beat Pop Cola, 86-77, last night at the Cuneta Astrodome and grabbed the last quarterfinal slot in the Philippine Basketball Association Governor's Cup.

With Pop Cola out of the way, Mobiline now looks forward to its first quarterfinal match Tuesday with Purefoods.

The Phone Pals had won over Commissioner's Cup titlist Gordon's Gin and Alaska Milk, following a four-game losing streak which clouded their chances for the next round.
