SAN MIGUEL WINS, ENTERS SEMIS

Pasay City, Nov. 15, 1997 - San Miguel put away Formula Shell, 102-95, to nail down an outright semi-finals berth in the Philippine Basketball Association Governor's Cup last night at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Shell, already ousted earlier, nevertheless put up a good fight and stayed close until the third quarter. The win gave the Beermen a 9-4 record for the overall standings. Shell bowed out of the conference with a 2-12 record and the worst team performance since the franchise began in 1993.
