PAENG NEPOMUCENO WINS ANOTHER WORLD TITLE
Singapore, Nov. 9, 1997 - Paeng Nepomuceno won his 111th world title yesterday with a 183- 163 victory over Antti Pekka of Finland, topping the $110,000 Landmark Santa Claus Open 10- pin bowling tournament.
Nepomuceno is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for four Bowling World Cup victories in three consecutive decades, in 1976, 1980, 11992 and 1996. The 36-year-old champion earned US$16,650 for his most recent Singapore win.
The Landmark Santa Claus Open, held at the Victor's Superbowl, began with 140 competitors from 17 countries. Five Taiwanese finished in the top 10.
