AI-AI DUMPS MIGUEL, KEEPS KIDS

Manila, Nov. 28, 1997 - Top standup funny lady Ai-Ai de las Alas is reported by several newspapers to be separated from her live-in lover, singer Miguel Vera, for the nth time in seven years.

Ai-Ai swears this separation is for good, because she has finally come to her senses and threw Miguel out of her house.

As Leah Gatdula of the Philippine Daily Inquirer describes the situation, "people close to Ai-Ai know of her love and devotion to Miguel. She loved Miguel so much that even when he showered her with punches and blows instead of love, she endured the pain. She does not regret having fallen in love."

The comedienne is confident that Mr. Right will come along one day.

"I know, someday, a man will come who will rescue me and be a father to my kids. The Lord knows that I want a happy family, and I know He will grant me that. One day, the right man will give me whatever Miguel had failed to provide."

Miguel gave interviews to other newspapers, saying he's back with his legal wife.

Ai-Ai bore Miguel two kids, Nicolo (4 years old) and Sofia Andrea (18 months). They're both with Ai-Ai.
