GELLI-ARIEL WEDDING ON DECEMBER 22

Manila, Nov. 25, 1997 - It's final and official: actress Gelli de Belen and singer-actor Ariel Rivera are all set to tie the knot on December 22, at the Sanctuario de San Jose in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila. The afternoon wedding will be officiated by Father Teofilo Rustia.

The wedding provides a happy ending to a 5-year stormy romance which started on the set of a TV show. They were on, then off, then on again. Gelli was shocked and hurt when Ariel started a relationship with another singer. Gelli took him back. They have since lived together, and now they are about to make it permanent.

At the press conference of their most recent movie, which unfortunately did not do so hot at the tills, Gelli said she now knows more about Ariel. She revealed that she understands what kind of husband and father Ariel will be "because this early, he has shown how family oriented he is."

Asked separately about their priorities in life, the couple came up with identical answers: God, family and each other.

Ariel's family is said to be flying in from Canada, where his parents and siblings are based.
