BOLD STAR AYA MEDEL IN DRUG SYNDICATE'S BLUE BOOK

Manila, Nov. 20, 1997 - Sexy starlet Aya Medel confirmed that the numbers of her cell phone and pager were found by police agents in the blue book of a drug lord slain in a bloody shootout inside a hotel in Malate last Monday.

However, Aya told a radio reporter that she had stopped using the cellphone and pager three months ago because she kept receiving calls from persons she did not know.

Police said there are other movie stars and show business personalities listed in the blue book found on two suspected drug syndicate members slain inside the Solanie Hotel during a raid by police.

Chief Superintendent Francisco Villaroman of the Narcom Special Operation Division told reporters that Aya will be summoned to explain how the syndicate members got her phone and pager numbers.

""We are not discounting the possibility that several movie stars are involved with the syndicate," Villaroman said. "That's why it's important that these personalities face the police to explain their sides."
