STAR CINEMA BRINGS BACK WHOLESOME FILMS
Manila, Nov. 17, 1997 - The constant complaint these days is the lack of movies to take one's children to see. Almost all the locally-produced films belong to the "titillating films" (TF) category, or are blood-and-gore action movies.
The box office success of "Ghostfighters, The Movie" augurs well for wholesome movies. Not only was it the first Filipino animated cartoon translated into film, it also broke the sexy films trend.
Now, Star Cinema brings the Filipino movie audience another family picture, "Kokey" which stars Ricky Davao, and Cherry Pie Picache.
"Kokey" is inspired by the all-time Hollywood hit "ET" and is directed by Romy Suzara, featuring child stars Carlo Aquino and Pearl Ann Alonzo.
