RUDY FERNANDEZ MAY RUN FOR QC VICE MAYOR

Manila, Nov. 10, 1997 - Movie columnist Oscar Miranda reports that action star Rudy Fernandez, who had earlier been rumored to be running for Mayor of Quezon City, will instead be running for Vice Mayor as running mate of Mayor Mel Mathay.

Miranda interviewed Rudy Fernandez, who admits that he's been considering the plan, but has not really clinched the deal with Mayor Mathay.

Rudy Fernandez hones his leadership abilities as chief executive of the Actors' Guild during its most tumultuous era.

His religiosity and non-controversial life are definite vote-getters, as is his pretty and talented wife Lorna Tolentino, who is currently in the United States learning the rudiments of film directing.

If and when Rudy runs, and wins, Alma Moreno will be straddling two major towns in the metropolis. Politically, that is. Her oldest son is by Rudy Fernandez, and her youngest by Joey Marquez, mayor of Paranaque. Now if only Dolphy could be persuaded to run for the Senate....
