MOVIE BAD GUY RUNNING FOR MAYOR OF TAYTAY

Taytay, Rizal, Nov. 10, 1997 - Moviedom's eternal bad guy Rez Cortez is the guy to bet for mayor of Taytay town in Rizal Province, according to many residents.

Rez, who is assigned to look after the tourism projects of their community, is one of the most-liked residents of Taytay.

Is there a possibility that he will win in May, 1998?

Manang Ethel Ramos of Malaya interviewed a lot of Taytay voters who think Rez will be their next local chief executive.

Movie columnist Nora Calderon, a resident of Taytay since birth, said Rez has a good chance if he lands with the right political party.

"After all, it's not what you know but whom you know that counts here in the Philippines come election time," Nora said.

Like Rex, Nora is an active member of the Christian movement Oasis of Love.
