SNOOKY QUITS REAL ESTATE JOB, OPENS BOUTIQUE

Paranaque, Nov. 5, 1997 - Snooky Serna is a very serious person these days. The last few months saw her trying to recover from an eating disorder that nearly killed her. She emerged from the experience (which she has not yet gotten over) ready to face bigger challenges.

Megaworld, a giant real estate corporation, hired her as a spokesperson for a multi-million executive condominium project. Her first public appearance as an executive in the ritzy world of business was given wide publicity. She quit after two months.

"I felt all my time was being consumed by the company. Of course, I knew beforehand that it was going to be a 9-to-6 job, but I was never really sure what I was going into. I felt I was losing time for my family, and it took its toll on my health."

Snooky admits she could not adjust. "My insomnia worsened. Corporate time is systematic, routinary. Showbiz time is erratic."

Today, she's devoting her time to daughters Samantha, 4, and Sachi who is only one year old. And she opened two boutiques inside BF Homes.

As a mother and housewife, she now spends more time with her family. She plays with her two daughters and watches TV with them. She has no regrets about joining and quitting from the corporate world, because she learned a lot from it.

"I became more confident in my abilities. If another offer come along, I will consider it as long as the job will not be time-consuming. You know, I live day to day. I want to explore and try everything."
