BULACAN MARBLE TRAINING AND DESIGN CENTER BOOSTS EXPORTS
Guiguinto, Bulacan, Nov. 16, 1997 - Philippine marble products will soon be able to compete in the world market, with the technical and artistic training provided by a new facility dedicated solely to the marble industry.
The P17-million marble training and design center was opened this week in Barangay Tabang through the joint efforts of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Marble Association of the Philippines, in coordination with the Design Center of the Philippines and the Bulacan provincial government.
The center will train workers on the latest technologies in marble processing is such areas as machine operation, polishing techniques, quality consistency and product marketing. It will also offer services to small business firms wanting to graduate into full-time exporters and not merely contractual suppliers to foreign buyers.
