BATANES TEACHERS ON AUSTRALIAN SCHOLARSHIPS

Basco, Batanes, Nov. 11, 1997 - Ten educators from three pilot schools in Basco are currently on a two-month study grant at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.

The trip, sponsored by the Philippine-Australian Program for Basic Education, was offered to teachers handling English, science and math subjects. A total of eight school teachers and two elementary school principals are taking the course.

From the Basco Central School: Maria Nanud, Aida Barona and Preciosa Rivera. From Mahatao Elementary School: Cesar Francis Cordel, Rosemarie de Ocampo and Marylin Alviso. From Batanes National High School: Jaime Castillo, Felisa Nunez, Evangeline Castillo and Elena Adami.
