MONTHLY PHONE RATES UP, U.S. CALLS LOWER
Makati City, Nov. 27, 1997 - The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) is increasing its monthly rates for both residential and business subscribers effective December 6.
Antonio Samson, Senior VP and official spokesman of PLDT, said the new monthly rates will be P386.41 for residential and P818.30 for business, up from the present P326.41 and P728.30 respectively.
Also to be adjusted are international toll rates, which will become lower due to pressure from other countries, particularly the US where most inbound and outbound calls are made.
The adjustments reflect the real costs of providing different telephone services, Samson said.
