PESO STRENGTH BOOSTS STOCKS
Manila, Nov. 12, 1997 - The stock market yesterday rebounded, buoyed by the rallying peso.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index gained 10.31 points, closing at 1,862.28, despite a general sense of pessimism. Losers outnumber gainers, 65 to 46. Oil shares lost, the rest managed marginal gains.
A total of 4.3 billion shares worth P424 million changed hands.
