PINOY FOOD ITEMS NOW SOLD AT DUTY FREE SHOPS

Subic Freeport, Nov. 11, 1997 - Export-quality Filipino bagoong will now be sold alongside Italian canned anchovy at the duty free shops inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Other Pinoy specialty food items will also be available in all the stores.

The agreement to make this possible was signed last week by the Philippine 'Food Processors and Exporters Organization (Philfoodex) and the Subic Bay Tourism Association (SBTA).

Under the agreement, Philfoodex can display and sell world-class export quality products in the Subic duty-free shops. The SBTA will make available to Philfoodex its marketing resources and tools to promote Philippine products and services.

A similar arrangement had been entered into earlier by Philfoodex with the Chamber of Clark Duty-Free Operators.
