BIGGER, BETTER NAYONG PILIPINO IN 1998
Pasay City, Oct. 28, 1997 - Nayong Pilipino, the Philippines-in-miniature theme park, is being turned into a world-class fun-and-learn center that will be competitive with other theme parks in Asia.
Nayong Pilipino Executive director Ines Valdes-Silvestre announced that the new features of Nayong Pilipino will include: a butterfly atrium of all rare Philippine butterfly species, an oceanarium/aquarium, heroes' trails murals for the Philippine Centennial Celebration, replica of the original mosque in Simunul Island, a Bicol Express train that will go around the park,
Silvestre added that 200 hectares have been allocated for the redevelopment of the present 46-hectare park.
Existing facilities, provincial theme homes and museums will be retained and rehabilitated.
