PLAN HEAD AND SAVE 45%, SAYS PAL
Manila, Oct. 23, 1997 - Philippine Airlines is proposing generous advance purchase discounts which could give travellers as much as 45% discounts.
The pricing scheme was revealed by PAL president Jose Antonio Garcia at a hearing of the House Committee on Transportation and Communications yesterday.
The public has been given a wider choice with the deregulation of the airline industry as envisioned by Executive Order No. 219, Garcia said, justifying PAL's proposed 35% fare increase in deregulated domestic routes. The choice is among full rates, discounted rates and the fares offered by PAL's increasing number of competitors.
To cushion the effects of its proposed rates, PAL is advising passengers to plan their trips well so that even with the 35% increase they will be able to enjoy discounts of as much as 45% if they buy their tickets 14 days in advance.
