P6 MILLION PURSE FOR RP BREEDERS' CUP
Makati City, Oct. 29, 1997 - The second Philippine Breeders' Cup will bring together the country's finest chargers at the Santa Ana Park on November 15, with more than P6 million in total prize money at stake.
Patterned after the US Breeders' Cup, the Philippine Breeders' Cup aims to bring to local racing the drama and thrill of championship competition among the best of he local thoroughbreds in a one-day parade of multi-million races.
Five P1 million championship races, including the Classic Cup for four-year-olds, highlight the day-long fest, making it the richest event in the racing calendar this year.
The keenly-awaited event is expected to generate P32.4 million in sales. It is organized by the Metropolitan Association of Race Horse Owners.
