SAN MIGUEL CRUSHES MOBILINE, POP COLA HUMBLES ALASKA

Pasay City, Oct. 27, 1997 - San Miguel Beer was 12 points behind but overcame that early deficit to win, 75-72, over Mobiline in the PBA Governor's Cup elimination round at the Cuneta Astrodome last night.

The Beermen hit just 35 percent from the field and committed 16 turnovers but hung tough to beat the Phone Pals for the second time this conference.

The game gave San Miguel a 7-win, 3-loss score to move to first place in the overall standings. Mobiline, so far, has 6 losses and four wins.

Pop Cola trounced Purefoods in the second game last night, 102-98, to snap out of a four- game losing streak.
