SAN MIGUEL WHIPS GORDON'S GIN 111-95
Quezon City, Oct. 25, 1997 - San Miguel played true to form to beat Gordon's Gin 111-95, to move to the solo lead in the Philippine Basketball Association's Governor's Cup eliminations.
It was a sweet victory for the Beermen, who lost to the Boars in the first round. The San Miguel team played confidently, showing full control throughout the game against the crowd's favorite.
The loss pushed Gordon's gin into a two-way tie with Purefoods for fourth place with 5 wins and 4 losses.
Bong Alvarez played his best game in the conference so far with 23 points, while Beerman import Larry Robinson sank a season-high 49 points, with 15 rebounds and 4 assists.
