ALASKA TRASHES GORDON'S GIN 105-97
Quezon City, Oct. 18, 1997 - Alaska Milk gave Gordon's Gin its second loss yesterday 105-97, placing five teams in second place in the Philippine Basketball Association's Governor's Cup elimination race.
Last night's victory was the fourth in seven games for the Milkmen, who now join San Miguel Beer, Purefoods and Mobiline behind solo leader Sta. Lucia, which has only two losses and five wins.
Mobiline inched up to the long line of second placers by beating Pop Cola, 86-77 in the first game.
Mobiline coach Tommy Manotoc's team had a rough roller-coaster ride before finally settling down with this second straight win. Their last victim was Shell, 100-92.
Pop Cola dropped to third with two wind and five losses, while Shell is still at the last post with only 1 victory in seven games played.
