IMPORT GIVES ALASKA 71-70 WIN OVER PUREFOODS

Dumaguete City, Oct. 12, 1997 - Alaska Milk import Sean Chambers sank a turnaround jumper in the final 6.9 seconds to push the Milkmen 71-70 over Purefoods in a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) out-of-town game of the Governor's Cup elimination round.

Chambers' last shot saved Alaska from elimination, and gave the defending champion a chance to defend the Governor's Cup. It was the Milkmen's third win in six games, placing them in a tie with Purefoods for third place in the standings.

Today's games will pit San Miguel against Sta. Lucia, Mobiline against Shell.
