ALASKA CREAMS STA LUCIA, PUREFOODS DROWNS SAN MIGUEL
Quezon City, Oct. 4, 1997 - It was a battle of imports, with Alaska's Sean Chambers outpointing Sta. Lucia's Sean Green, to led the Milkmen to victory, 91-83. The loss was the first for the Realtors, which has been enjoying the solo lead (3 wins, no loss) in the Philippine Basketball Association's (PBA) Governor's Cup eliminations.
Despite last night's loss, Sta. Lucia maintained its led position in the rankings.
In the second game of the evening, Mike Jones scored 44 points to give Purefoods a resounding 101-93 over San Miguel Beer. Beerman import Larry Robinson's 29 points was not good enough to arrest his team's losing streak.
Purefoods, Alaska and San Miguel are tied in third position with 2 win and 2 losses each, Mobiline and Gordon's Gin are in second place with 2 wins and one loss each, while bottom two are Pop Cola (1-2) and Formula Shell (0-3).
