NIGHT CLUB GIRLS INVADE MOVIES
Manila, Oct. 18, 1997 - Night club GROs, or Guest Relations Officers, no longer hide their previous occupations once they break into the movies. They even capitalize on it.
Take the stars of the new movie "G.R.O." for example. Rita Magdalena and Ynez Veneracion are both former real-life GROs of the most expensive club in Manila, the Pegasus.
Rita says she used to make P120,000 per night just from tips of her rich night club customers. But Ynez claims she was making much less, only P1,500 per night, because she was paid only P500 per modelling stint and there were three shows per night.
Ynez says she only modeled on the main ramp of the night club, not in private rooms or for private shows, which pays more.
Now that the two night club girls are both actresses, they are tight-lipped about how much their talent fee is for baring all before the cameras.
Rita Magdalena, for one, has invested her earnings wisely. She ha bought a 10-hectare beach lot in Pagadian, Zamboanga, which she plans to develop into a resort. The value of the property has gone up since she paid P600,000 for it.
