LEAH NAVARRO BACK FOR MANILA CONCERTS
Manila, Oct. 15, 1997 - After eight years, singer-actress Leah Navarro is back in Manila doing what she likes most -- singing.
Leah left the Philippines for the German city of Aachen with the intention of marrying her German boyfriend Christop Bettag. But decided after six weeks in Germany to proceed to Canada to work for her mother, songstress Nelda Navarro, first in the advertising business and later in formula car racing.
A lust for singing finally convinced Leah to come back home, at least for the concerts. She has been guesting in TV shows, where thousands of fans surprise her by singing her songs out loud with her.
Leah's been very open about her romantic involvement with Mar Ranillo III, which was Mat's mother, actress Gloria Sevilla, later told her was just a set up. It broke her heart and she could not get over it for two years.
Today, stronger and still single, Leah is back facing the world in her usual manner: head held up high, smiling and singing.
As she told the Star's Ricky Lo: "I'm a more comfortable person now, I'm stronger. I'm less emotional, more grounded and more at peace with myself. I'm enjoying my life. I'm a working person, a regular person, and that keeps my feet on the ground."
Leah will have a 3-night concert series at the Music Museum Oct 23, 24 and 25, a concert called "The Magic Returns" where she is expected to sing her signature songs Kailangan Kita, Ligaw-Tingin, Isang Mundo Isang Awit and Ang Pagibig Kong Ito.
