CENTENNIAL MOVIE NEEDS NEW FACES
Manila, Oct. 12, 1997 - The courageous life of General Agueda Kahabagan, the first Filipina combat general, will be revealed in a movie to be directed by Celso Ad. Castillo. The film, according to Governor Joey Lina, will be Laguna's contribution to the Philippine Centennial celebration next year.
"Henerala Kahabagan's life and career were just as colorful and dramatic as Gabriela Silang's," said Celso, who is from Siniloan. The Henerala was from Calauan.
Celso is now in search of new faces for the lead characters. Henerala's role will be played by "a cross between Mikee Cojuangco and Glydel Mercado."
The lucky actress should know how to ride a horse, because the heroine was on horseback during many of her encounters against the Spaniards.
The director would rather have the whole cast composed of new talent.
