TRAINS TO REACH LEGAZPI IN MARCH

Manila, Oct. 17, 1997 - The Philippine National Railways has assured Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara that the railroad tracks will reach Legazpi City by March next year.

P200 million has been appropriated for the construction of two bridges in Barangays Bongalon and Gapo in the town of Daraga, to link Legazpi to the railroad system.

Governor Bichara had earlier written the PNR to inquire about the status and the work schedule on the project, particularly in Albay province. He was told that the rehabilitation of PNR lines from Naga City to Legazpi was 95 percent complete, with the exception of the two bridges.
