PANGASINAN CPP-NPA CAMP CAPTURED
Lingayen, Pangasinan, Oct. 9, 1997 - Government troops, supported by Army air firepower, successfully overran a major communist rebel camp in Infanta, Pangasinan without suffering any casualty.
Pangasinan Police Director Rosendo Ferrer reported to the PNP Regional Headquarters that the New People's Army (NPA) encampment was found brimming with communist documents, grenades, disassembled M-16 and a stock of food for the armed rebel group.
Ferrer said the authorities are "in the process of analyzing the captured CPP-NPA documents of its tactical as well as strategic value." He predicts that the public will know "in due time" the hidden agenda of the CPP-NPA rank and file in Pangasinan and Northern Zambales.
