BOEING SETS UP SHOP IN CLARK
Clark Field, Oct. 27, 1997 - McDonnel Douglas Corp., a subsidiary of the giant aircraft firm Boeing, has signed and agreement with Clark International Airport Corporation for the establishment of a military aircraft support center at the 2,200-hectare aviation complex inside the former US Air Force base.
McDonnel Douglas and Boeing are currently undertaking an industrial participation program for the F/A Hornet, a multimission tactical aircraft being used by the US Navy and the US Marine Corps. The aircraft is also used by Canada, Australia and Finland, and will be delivered to Malaysia and Thailand in the next three years.
The hornet is currently being evaluated by Austria, Chile and the Philippines for future procurement.
