PESO, STOCKS SUFFER MINOR LOSSES
Manila, Oct. 21, 1997 - The peso and the stock market both suffered minor losses amidst renewed currency concerns prevailing in Asia. At the end of the trading day, the peso averaged P33.93 per dollar, down by 7 centavos from its Friday average of P33.851.
At the Philippine Stock Exchange, volume was extremely light, As share prices fell by 35.10 points to close at 2,015.78. Losers outnumbered gainers 82 to 25. A total of 632 million shares worth P1.15 billion changed hands.
