UST KEEPS UAAP WOMEN'S
VOLLEYBALL CROWN

Manila, Sept. 20, 1997 -- Defending titlist University of Santo Tomas posted a thrilling four-set victory against Far Eastern University to capture the 1997 UAAP women's volleyball crown.

The UST Growling Tigresses won with a vengeance, coming from a heartbreaking five-set loss to the Lady Tamaraws in their first encounter last Tuesday.

UST coach August Sta. Maria said the team's intensity was surprising. Johanna Botor and Rosalyn Labay, both members of the RP national team, led UST's comeback.
