SEXY TREND SHELVES
WHOLESOME MOVIES

Manila, Sept. 19, 1997 -- The production and exhibition of wholesome family movies have been put on hold because sexy movies are in vogue.

Showbiz scribe Mario Bautista of the Manila Times reports that Viva Films has decided to shelve the new movie "Anghel na Walang Pakpak" starring child actress Mumay Santiago in the title role.

Viva also cancelled "Villa Quintana, The Movie" from the TV serial which starred Kempee de Leon and Donna Cruz.

Two movies are in the freezer at Regal's compound: "Nasaan Ang Puso" starring Maricel Soriano and Judy Ann Santos and "Kulayan Natin Ang Bukas" with Judy Ann.

Lopez-owned Star Cinema, which has finished "April, May, June" starring Chin-Chin Gutierrez, Agot Isidro and Alma Concepcion, cancelled the August playdate of the movie. The producers are still waiting for the sexy movies trend to wane before deciding when to show their "tame, wholesome" family flicks.
