HEPA-A EPIDEMIC IN CAINTA COLLEGE
Manila, Sept 24, 1997 - The Department of Health has pinpointed drinking water as the cause of a Hepatitis-A outbreak which has so far infected 56 students of the Cainta Catholic College.
The DOH and the Cainta Municipal Health office ordered a shutdown of the school's water system, after tests showed that the school's water sources were positive for coliform, indicating contamination.
No fatalities have been reported.
